We’re excited to announce that the UBC Advanced Research Computing (ARC) team will be hosting in-person training sessions on June 18 in LIB 111.
These sessions will provide an introduction to High-Performance Computing (HPC) and ARC OnDemand and are a great opportunity to explore how high-performance computing can support and accelerate your research. Open to all researchers—whether you’re new to ARC or already familiar with their services. It’s a great opportunity to explore how HPC can support and accelerate your research.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Training session schedule
Introduction to HPC
10 to 11 am
Learn how to leverage UBC ARC Sockeye and resources available from the Digital Research Alliance of Canada for your research projects. Participants will gain hands-on experience and deepen their understanding of the latest technologies and methodologies in HPC.
ARC OnDemand
11 am to 12 noon
Discover how to use ARC OnDemand, a user-friendly web portal to access high-performance computing. Through this interface, researchers can launch tools such as RStudio, JupyterHub or a Virtual Desktop, supporting a broad range of interactive computing activities.
Ask Me Anything
2 to 3 pm
Bring your research questions to this session hosted by ARC Staff. This is a perfect chance to get advice and insight on how ARC technologies can support your work.
Can’t make it on June 18? No problem! ARC will also be offering its Summer School courses from July 7 to 11. It’s a great chance to dive deeper into high-performance computing and explore technologies that can support your research.
