This landmark event will bring together leading scholars, community voices, and activists to unpack the lived realities of caste discrimination and the urgent call for anti-caste and anti-racist solidarity.
The public talk will feature distinguished speaker Dr. Chinnaiah Jangam. The panel discussion following the talk will include:
Dr. Neha Gupta (UBC Okanagan)
Dr. Chinnaiah Jangam (Carleton University)
Anita Lal (Poetic Justice Foundation)
The panel will be moderated by Dr. Sharanjit Kaur Sandhra from Belonging Matters Consulting.
The event is free and open to the public, however registration is required.
Following the panel, we invite you to the Kelowna launch of OVERCASTE—Confront. Disrupt. Evolve.
This powerful exhibit examines casteism in Canada through personal stories, historical context, and interactive installations.
This is the first event of its kind in Kelowna, creating vital space for community conversation, education, and collective action.
