Ballet Kelowna presents Countermove
November 8 at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Ballet Kelowna opens its 2025/26 season with an adventurous triple bill, Countermove, on November 7 + 8, 2025, at the Kelowna Community Theatre. The dynamic fall program brings Kelowna audiences an unexpected evening of contemporary ballet from four Canadian dancemakers.
Former Ballet BC dancers and Co-Artistic Directors of Vancouver’s Belle Spirale Dance Projects, Alexis Fletcher and Sylvain Senez, make their Ballet Kelowna debut with the world premiere of still before, a visceral new work that explores the fleeting nature of time. Ballet Kelowna Artistic Director and CEO Simone Orlando remounts her subversively playful commentary on conformity in Doppeling, and Associate Artist Cameron sinkʷə Fraser-Monroe returns with a refreshed version of his satirical take on the classic “Cowboys and Indians” trope in The Cowboy Act Suite, complete with cowboy hats, a life-sized chuckwagon, and new surprises.
Tickets are $25 for UBCO students, sponsored by the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies. Choose between Ballet Kelowna’s classic 7:30 pm show time on Friday and Saturday nights, or our brand-new matinee performance at 1:30 pm on Saturdays.
