The Community, Culture and Global Studies 2022 Speaker Series invites you to attend a talk by Tala Khanmalek, and heidi andrea restrepo rhodes.

In this talk, we will discuss the politics and poetics of illness as vital to our thought and methods—shaping our lives and relationship to each other, and our practice of writing collaboratively across distances.

Presenters

Tala Khanmalek is Assistant Professor of Women and Gender Studies at California State University, Fullerton. She is currently writing a book manuscript that engages public health archives with feminist of color epistemologies and continuing a multi-year oral history project on the work of healing justice practitioners.

 

 

heidi andrea restrepo rhodes is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre for the Humanities at Tufts University with research interests in the histories of violence, feminist thought, decolonial politics and aesthetics, queer-of-color disability thought, and alternative epistemologies. She is also a poet and cultural worker.
