Course (Re)design Intensive

Do you have a new course that you need to design for next fall? Are you trying to set aside time to redesign a course? Here is an opportunity for you to be guided through the step-by-step process of designing a learner-centered course that aligns with your goals and the needs of your program. The workshop will draw on the principles of Backward Design and will be structured around a 4-part process: articulating course scope & context, defining learning outcomes, determining assessment for/as learning, and selecting instructional strategies. In addition, participants will have opportunities to reflect on how their choices throughout the process support academic integrity, inclusion & anti-racism, and Indigenization & Decolonization. The workshop will serve as a collaborative space for providing and receiving constructive feedback with the goal for participants to outline a course plan.
