CTL Workshop: Instructional Skills Workshop
November 10 at 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 9:00 am, happening 5 times
The Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) is an internationally-certified program designed to increase teaching effectiveness and encourage reflection on teaching practice.
The workshop is 24-hours and is typically conducted over 4-5 days. The ISW approach is founded on several core activities which include: participant-led mini-lessons; participant-led feedback; and theme sessions. Confidentiality, peer support and facilitator guidance will all contribute to the success of the workshop. Participants should expect to spend approximately two hours on preparatory work before the start of the workshop and one hour on assignments after each day.
This ISW is being offered as part of the Teaching Development Program (TDP) for New Faculty. All faculty members at UBCO—tenured, tenure track and sessional—are invited to register. However, faculty members currently enrolled in the TDP will be given priority.
The ISW will be offered during Midterm Break to avoid conflict with class schedules. (Please note – the ISW will be offered again in February 2022.)
