CTLT – Fireside Chat: Teaching with TAs in the Online Environment

February 22, 2021 at 10:00 am - 11:00 am

The UBC Okanagan Centre for Teaching and Learning is proud to promote the UBC Vancouver Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT) events to our Okanagan instructors.

Would you like to hear some in-the-trenches experience from colleagues who taught classes with TAs online in the last few months? We are inviting a few of them to share with us their candid experiences, and to offer tips and strategies that you can apply immediately in your online teaching with TAs.

  • Qian Wang Associate Professor of Teaching, Department of Asian Studies
  • Blaire Steinwand, Professor of Teaching Department of Zoology
  • Sarika Bose, Deprtament of English Language and Literatures

Please note this workshop is part of the Online Teaching Program. This flexible program is designed to help you explore, learn and get support with teaching online. The program consists of a course with self-paced modules in Canvasonline workshops with experiential learning opportunities, and one-on-one consultation support with an educational consultant. This particular workshop is designed to complement module 8, “The Role of Teaching Assistants in the Online Classroom“. Each module takes 30 minutes to an hour to complete. To further explore this topic, we recommend you proceed through the module at your own time.
