CTLT Winter Institute – Faculty Wellbeing: Towards Building a Healthier Community
December 15, 2020 at 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
The UBC Okanagan Centre for Teaching and Learning is proud to promote the UBC Vancouver Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology Winter Institute events to our Okanagan instructors.
Wellbeing is foundational to the success of our people, our university and our communities. At UBC, wellbeing is an institutional priority, and action is being taken to support the wellbeing of students, staff and faculty and to support the creation of environments that contribute to community wellbeing. Faculty and instructors play an important role in the creation of healthy teaching and learning environments; and attention to their wellbeing ultimately contributes to a healthier community for all. Through a panel discussion, break-out room brainstorming activities, and reflections on wellbeing, participants will gain a better understanding of strategies for improving their wellbeing, develop a personal wellness plan, and be informed of resources that support faculty members.
Facilitators:
- Gail Hammond, Assistant Professor, Land and Food Systems
- Michael Lee, Associate Professor of Teaching, Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy
- Crystal Hutchinson, Workplace Wellbeing Strategist, Human Resources
