Have you ever wondered how bridges or buildings can withstand earthquakes or other natural disasters?

The High Head Lab—designed to test various structural systems and elements under static, cyclic and dynamic loads—explores how to develop disaster resiliency on a global scale.

Join Dr. Shahria Alam and Dr. Lisa Tobber at the High Head Lab (EME 0256) for an immersive learning experience as part of the Get to Know UBCO Tour series. See inside a state-of-the-art facility where patents and novel technologies help shape resilient infrastructure.

There will be two groups touring—group one from 10 to 10:30 am and group two from 10:30 to 11 am.

Please be sure to register, as space is limited. Registration is open to all faculty and staff.

Participants must wear long pants and closed-toed shoes during this tour. Safety glasses will be provided to all participants.
