How Graduate Students Matter – Learn How to Respond to Disclosures of Sexualized Violence

November 3, 2022 at 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

Sexualized violence has no place at UBCO but you do. You might hold lots of titles and roles as a graduate student at UBC and it is important for you to learn about your responsibilities in creating a culture of consent that centers survivors. You can help. Join the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office to learn skills and knowledge on how to best respond and support survivors. It begins by listening, upholding confidentiality, asking for what people need, respecting their decisions believing and validating. In this training, folks will also learn about the policy, the difference between a disclosure and a report, the investigations office and resources both on and off-campus.
