IGNITE: Your Brand Matters

You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Join us and learn why your personal brand is a critical piece of your job hunt while building critical skills around how you can influence the impression you make on others. This workshop will be hosted in collaboration with RBC and the facilitators will be David Vogt and Marissa Jonn.

David Vogt, Branch Manager, Advisor – RBC On Campus UBCO and Okanagan College: David has been with RBC for 9 years, taking many different roles. His experience lead him to RBC On Campus where he grew his passion for helping students achieve their financial and professional goals. When not helping students, David enjoys giving back to the community, and has been an active mentor for the Kelowna Community Resource center.

Marissa Jonn is a Banking Advisor at our RBC On Campus locations, both for OC and UBCO. An Okanagan College graduate, she has a passion for helping students in their post-secondary journey’s to feel confident in their finances and professional development. When not working at the bank, you’ll find Marissa building her business as a Wedding Photographer and spending time with her cat.

What is IGNITE?

IGNITE is a two-week career program (March 6-17) that aims to assist international students in navigating the Canadian job market and identifying workplace requirements while fostering intercultural competence. Inspirational speakers, an alumni panel, and numerous more events are included in IGNITE. Students will be able to build job-search, interview, and networking skills, as well as understand more about the legal requirements for working in Canada.
