Indigenous Strategic Plan Town Hall

January 13, 2020 at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

UBC is in the final stage of developing an Indigenous Strategic Plan, which will guide the university’s Indigenous engagement initiatives for years to come.

This final stage involves creating a university-wide action plan that intends to build upon the Declaration of Truth and Reconciliation Commitments of the Okanagan campus announced in September 2019 and comprise UBC’s response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action as well as, the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Inquiry’s 231 Calls to Justice.

The town hall session will involve a discussion with Dr. Sheryl Lightfoot, Senior Advisor to the President on Indigenous Affairs (UBCV), Dr. Margaret Moss, Director of the First Nations House of Learning (UBCV), and Ian Cull, Senior Advisor to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor on Indigenous Affairs.

The discussion will focus on the three overarching themes of the Action Plan: Research, Teaching & Learning, and Service.

No registration or RSVP required.
