February 24 at 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, repeating until April 28, 2021
This group will explore and discuss the emotional health, social health, role expectations, relationship with others and self as a member of the Black and African Diaspora community on campus while facing the challenges of anti-Blackness/Racism.
This group is run by a UBCO counsellor who is a person of colour, and aims to create a safe and healing space to share lived experiences with race-related stress. Together in sharing our common lived experiences, we draw a collective voice to:
- not feel alone
- process and learn from each other’s wisdom
- create a community to uplift and support one another
- empower through collective healing, growth and transformation
To ensure a safe space, this group is intended for students who are members of the Black or African community. To register, email Liz Jonas at firstname.lastname@example.org for the Zoom group link.
