Kelowna Mayoral Debate

September 28, 2022 at 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

UBC Okanagan and Okanagan College (OC) have teamed up to host a public on-campus forum for questions to be put to the candidates vying to be mayor of Kelowna. The event will be moderated by CBC Radio host Sarah Penton at OC’s amphitheatre on KLO Road.

Mayoral candidates in Kelowna will speak specifically to issues that matter to university and college students. Students at both institutions are being engaged in preparing questions for the debate, touching on several themes, such as affordability, wellbeing, diversity, Truth and Reconciliation, climate change, and the future of Kelowna.

Students, faculty staff and the broader community are invited to hear from the candidates on issues relevant to our shared interests that matter today, and in the future.

Admission to the debate is free; donations for the Indian Residential School Survivors Society will be accepted at the door. Space is limited so guests are encouraged to secure tickets as soon as possible.
