
Mindful Break

Join Registered Clinical Counsellor and former UBC researcher, Jan Klimas, PhD, for a community mindfulness session to practice moment-to-moment awareness. This summer series offers a space to continue or renew your mindfulness practice through guided meditation.
This session involves a counsellor-led mindfulness meditation of 20-25 minutes long. We will practice attentional focused meditation, body scan, and compassionate friendliness practice.
You can choose to attend as many or as few sessions as you would like.
About your facilitator:
Dr. Jan Klimas (he/him), PhD, is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, certified mindfulness teacher, and former researcher at UBC. His work is grounded in motivational, mindfulness and acceptance-based approaches. He also specializes in prolonged exposure therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) at the West Coast Resiliency Centre.
