Mini-Symposium on Plant Natural Products and Biosynthesis: From Genes to Molecules

The Plant Bioactive Compounds Research (PlantBioCoRe/Dang) Laboratory at UBC Okanagan is hosting a mini-symposium that brings together researchers from Canada and Asia working at the intersection of plant specialized metabolism, natural product biosynthesis, enzymology and synthetic biology.
The symposium will feature researchers from the University of British Columbia, University of Northern British Columbia and the University of Calgary, as well as leading institutions across Japan, Hong Kong and China. Speakers will share emerging discoveries in natural product biosynthesis, enzyme function, pathway evolution and the application of synthetic biology to plant-derived chemistry.
The program will also provide opportunities for students and trainees to present their research through short talks and posters and to connect with visiting researchers in an informal, interdisciplinary environment.
Faculty, students, researchers and anyone interested in plant biochemistry, natural products and biotechnology are welcome to attend.
