June 8 at 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Event Series (See All)

An enormous, 25-by-35-foot, Indigenous territorial map of what we now call Canada will be on display in the UNC Ballroom (UNC 200) on Monday, June 8, 2026, for UBC Okanagan students, faculty and staff to view and further their learning about the traditional territories of Indigenous Peoples and relevant historical events.

For National Indigenous History Month, we will be celebrating the history, culture, languages, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.

The event will include:

  • Slide Show Presentation: Highlighting First Nations, diversity, contributions to Canada, famous people & their home communities, etc.
  • Scavenger Hunt: find the communities and hometowns of well-known Indigenous people throughout history in Canada and enter for a chance to win a door prize.

No registration is required.
