Nature is Weird: A Zine-Making Workshop

March 7 at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

As part of the New Leaves Festival of Arts and Culture, Inspired Word Café is thrilled to present a zine-making workshop led by feminist writer, researcher and UBC Okanagan professor, Astrida Neimanis!

This workshop invites writers at all stages and experience levels to engage in a learning and sharing environment.

Explore the weird and queer abundance of natural worlds and learn to make zines (small, handmade books)! All supplies will be provided. No experience required, all welcome!

No registration necessary—spots are first-come, first-served. This workshop is held downtown on Bernard Avenue at “This Space Belongs To You.” This event is free to attend.

The New Leaves Festival of Arts and Culture 2026 is made possible by the support of the City of Kelowna, the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies and School of Education at UBC Okanagan, the Province of British Columbia, the Government of Canada, the British Columbia Arts Council, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Espaces Francophone, and BNA Brewing Co.
