Polish Anarchafeminist and Queer Zine Exhibition and Workshop

August 10 at 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

As part of the International Undergraduate Research Award, Soha Aftab (BA Cultural Studies and English) invites you to a physical and digital exhibition of a selection of Polish Anarchafeminist and Queer Zines in the Sawchuk Family Theater in the Commons building at UBC Okanagan on Monday, August 10 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a short talk about how these zines are being researched at UBCO, and a zine-making workshop which encourages people to make their own zines, inspired by the zines on display. All supplies will be provided.

This event is free and open to all. Registration is not required.

Soha Aftab received the FCCS International Undergraduate Student Research award to work with Drs. Emily Murphy and Maria Alexopoulos for the summer of 2026 to research how queer and anarcho-feminist zines can inspire conversations among activist circles beyond their original contexts and how they can engage with her own relationship to transnational feminism through the migration and circulation of zines.
