Public Anthropology Speaker Series: Journalism, Media and (Dis)integration

March 25, 2022 at 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

The Public Anthropology Speaker Series invites you to attend a talk by Chris Walker.

Chris Walker is a veteran journalist with CBC News in Kelowna, where he covers politics, social movements, and climate change. He holds a Graduate Degree in Journalism from Carleton University, and a Bachelor of Arts in American History from the University of Victoria.

With media increasingly engineered to distort truth, foster division and reinforce power, what lessons can anthropology and journalism offer to help fulfil a shared mission—to simply describe reality?

All are welcome to attend this free event, but pre-registration is required.
