Queer Zine Fair

Join us at Kelowna’s third annual Queer Zine Fair, hosted by Kelowna Museums and UBCO Library, at the beautiful Laurel Packinghouse on June 4 from 5 to 8 pm!
The Queer Zine Fair will showcase and celebrate zines created by 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals or focusing on 2SLGBTQIA+ themes.
Zines have been a powerful underground and DIY force of expression and cultural movement in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community since the ‘70s. Newbies are invited to learn more!
At 8:15 pm, the fair will be followed by an open mic where attendees or exhibitors can share their creativity. Sign up at the event to share spoken word, music, comedy, or read passages from your zines aloud.
Queer artists, writers, and creatives can sign up for free to sell, trade, or give away their zines. If you are interested in a booth, apply here or email Erik Beardmore at ebeardmore@kelownamuseums.ca.
Tickets and sign-ups are not necessary; walk-ins are absolutely welcome.
Curious about zine making and want to learn more? Attend the Queer Zine Workshop on April 13.
