UBCO | CTL Event

Modality: In-person
Location: SCI 331

Facilitators: Johanna Black, Education, and Prevention Specialist

The UBC Okanagan Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) invites you to join us for a two-hour session on disclosures. This session is for TAs in the faculties of Management, Science, and the School of Engineering.

NOTE: It is important to know that this training will include some detailed discussion of sexualized and gender-based violence.

In order to properly respond to sexualized and gender-based violence, we must first understand what it is and some of the common ways that we see it showing up on our campus. In this session, we will explore:

  • definitions of various forms of sexualized and gender-based violence including: sexual assault, sexual harassment, voyeurism, stalking, and online sexual violence;
  • discuss common responses to trauma; and
  • identify trauma-informed ways to respond to disclosures of sexualized and gender-based violence.

Spaces will be limited to a maximum of 20 participants at each session so that we can maintain a supportive and safe learning environment.
