Responding to Disclosures of Sexualized Violence

December 2 at 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

Presented by SVPRO & the GSA

Join us for an interactive workshop facilitated by Education Specialists from the Sexual Violence Prevention & Response Office (SVPRO), open to all graduate students. This workshop will foster the skills necessary to support survivors of sexualized and gender-based violence. Survivors often disclose to someone they already trust, such as a friend, mentor or even a faculty member. It is important to develop the skills to respond in a supportive manner without causing further harm. Participants will also learn about various resources for support on campus and relevant policies.

This workshop is offered as part of the UBCO Graduate Student Association’s Graduate Student Advocacy Workshops. These workshops offer students the opportunity to participate in monthly, free workshops to receive training and gain skills to advocate for yourself and your peers.
