The Roger Watts Debate Run-offs

The annual Roger Watts Debate returns on Wednesday, March 25, 2026!
All UBCO undergraduate students are invited to enroll in the Roger Watts Debate run-offs to be held on Wednesday, March 11, at 5 pm in ART 214.
To enrol, students should express their interest by emailing Dr. Renaud-Phillipe Garner at renaud-philippe.garner@ubc.ca before March 2 at noon.
The winners of the run-offs will advance to the Roger Watts Debate final on March 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Rotary Centre for the Arts’ Mary Irwin Theatre.
To prepare for the run-offs, students can hone their debating skills at weekly practice sessions held every Wednesday at 5:30 pm in ART 204 on the following dates:
- January 28
- February 4
- February 11
- February 18
- February 25
- March 4
Registration for the practice sessions is not required. Just show up!
