Understanding and Using the Early Alert system at UBCO

September 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm - 3:15 pm

Free

Faculty and staff can benefit from using the Early Alert system at UBC Okanagan to identify concerns about students who may be struggling.  Early Alert allows faculty, staff, advisors and teaching assistants to identify their concerns about students sooner and in a more coordinated way.  This presentation will be facilitated by Nancy Guy and Anya Brooker, members of the Student Support and Case Management team.  Participants can expect to increase their knowledge of:

  • How to identify signs a student is struggling
  • How to make an Early Alert report and how the system works
  • What student supports and resources exist on and off campus
