Valley Voices Book Launch

September 19 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join Valley Voices for the first reading of the season and the book launch for local authors Joanna Cockerline and Kevin Andrew Heslop.

Joanna Cockerline’s debut novel, Still, focuses on the homeless and sex work communities in Kelowna, inspired by her volunteer work with marginalized women who live and work on Kelowna’s streets. Cockerline is a lecturer in the Department of English and Cultural Studies at UBC Okanagan, where she teaches courses in English, communications and rhetoric, creative writing, and is also a lecturer in the Faculty of Management.

Kevin Andrew Heslop will be launching his most recent book, The Writing on the Wind’s Wall: Dialogues about ‘Medical Assistance in Dying’.

This event is organized by Valley Voices and supported by the creative writing program in the Department of Creative Studies.
