Welcome Week: Sciversify UBCO Conference

Join UBC’s Equity & Inclusion Office for a virtual workshop exploring best practices for navigating the current equity, diversity and inclusion landscape. We’ll discuss concepts like power & privilege through relevant scenarios and current events, and end with a deeper dive into inclusive language.

Recognizing an ongoing lack of diversity within the field of science, Sciversify UBCO is a new, student-led initiative aimed at sparking a discussion around equity and diversity in STEM. This virtual conference consists of speaking engagements for scientists from underrepresented communities to showcase their work and discuss their lived experiences. This conference, delivered via Zoom in the evenings, will consist of a panel discussion, a keynote speaker, and an equity training workshop hosted by the UBCO Equity and Inclusion Office.
