Welcome Week: Sciversify UBCO Conference

Join us for a panel discussion about identity and intersectionality within STEM. This event features panelists Dr. Chonnettia Jones, Dr. Naznin Virji-Babul, Zina Aburegeba, and Meaghan Efford, four women in British Columbia doing incredible work in science.

Recognizing an ongoing lack of diversity within the field of science, Sciversify UBCO is a new, student-led initiative aimed at sparking a discussion around equity and diversity in STEM. This virtual conference consists of speaking engagements for scientists from underrepresented communities to showcase their work and discuss their lived experiences. This conference, delivered via Zoom in the evenings, will consist of a panel discussion, a keynote speaker, and an equity training workshop hosted by the UBCO Equity and Inclusion Office.
