Wellness Wednesdays: Navigating BC’s Healthcare System

September 21 at 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

Join us on Wednesdays in PICNIC (UNC 122B) from 12-2 pm for drop-in health education events hosted by your Student Wellness Nurses.

There will be a new health topic each week! This is a great way to learn and ask questions in a casual setting. There will be opportunities to win prizes!

These events are all about building presence, increasing health literacy, breaking down barriers and making health care on campus more accessible to students.

*Please note that this time is designated for education and linking you to resources. If you have any personal health concerns you would like to discuss, please make an appointment at the UBCO Student Wellness Clinic. Visit our website for more information: Student Wellness (ubc.ca)

This Week’s Topic: Navigating BC’s Healthcare System

If you are new to BC or new to being an adult, you know how difficult navigating health care can be! Drop in to learn how to get the most of your healthcare. We will be discussing what is covered by MSP and the scope of practice of UBCO clinic’s health care providers. There will be some tips for international and dual citizen students. We will also explain where you should go for healthcare, depending on if you have questions about medications, needing stitches, to having a life-threatening injury or illness.
