Western Canadian Conference on Undergraduate Research & Psychology

The Department of Psychology and the Irving K Barber Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences presents the Western Canadian Conference on Undergraduate Research & Psychology.

The conference features undergraduate researchers from all over Western Canada, a talk by keynote speaker Dr. Lauren Human, and networking opportunities.

Student psychology researchers from Alberta and British Columbia are invited to submit their abstracts for posters. The deadline is Sunday, May 15, 2022, and those who are accepted will receive notification by Wednesday, June 15, 2022.

Prizes

  • Best Poster: $100
  • Honourable Mention: $50
  • Five Door Prizes: $25 each

About the Keynote Speaker

Dr. Lauren Human is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Principal’s Research Chair at the UBC Okanagan campus, where she directs the Social Interaction and Perception Lab. Dr. Human completed her PhD in social and personality psychology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in social and health psychology at the University of California, San Francisco. Prior to coming to UBCO, Dr. Human was faculty at McGill University.
