Climate Change, Forest Fires and Water: An Ecohydrological Perspective

September 12 at 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Irving K. Barber Faculty of Science invites the community to a public presentation titled Climate Change, Forest Fires and Water: An Ecohydrological Perspective.

About the Talk

Climate change can lead to more frequent forest fires and extreme climate events, negatively impacting water supply, forest carbon, aquatic habitats, and other ecological functions. These challenges are particularly pronounced in dry regions such as the Okanagan Valley.

The presentation will explore the connections between climate change, forests, and water from an ecohydrological perspective and discuss ways to adapt to these negative impacts in the community.

A Q&A session will follow the presentation. The evening will conclude with a brief reception in the lobby.

This is a free community event, but pre-registration is required.
