Indigenous Peoples Atlas of Canada: Mapping Residential Schools

September 24 at 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

In the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation, the event will be an opportunity to locate various Indian Residential Schools (IRS) around what we know today as Canada as well as provide educational information about profiled IRS’. We are hoping the Indigenous Atlas will help you identify where Residential Schools were located and provide you with some history about what happened to Indigenous children in Canada.

Some of the information shared in the exhibit may be distressing and triggering. If you require emotional support or assistance, we encourage you to reach out to your personal support systems and/or contact the following:

  • Indian Residential School Survivors Society: toll-free at 1-800-721-0066 or the 24-hour crisis line at 1-866-925-4419
