Alumni Office Hours with Dr. Tony Yang – Partnerships Manager, Centre for Heart Lung Innovation

FreeThe Centre for Student Involvement and Careers, in partnership with the UBC Hub of Ten Thousand Coffees, is excited to bring you a virtual mentorship and networking opportunity to connect with UBC Alumni, Dr. Tony Yang. This event is open to all students and alumni.
In this Alumni Office Hour, Dr. Yang will share how he was able to turn obstacles into opportunities and create a unique career path. With a BSc in Physics and Life Sciences (‘08) and a PhD in Bioengineering (’16), Dr. Yang is utilizing his science, engineering, medicine, and management expertise to transform bold ideas into actionable innovation.
Dr. Tony Yang is the Research & Industry Partnerships Manager at the UBC Centre for Heart Lung Innovation (HLI). In this role, he works closely with the Senior Leadership Team and external academic, non-academic, and industry partners to identify strategic research initiatives and potential collaboration opportunities to enhance the training environment for undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral researchers.
Dr. Yang is also the Translational Research Program Manager of Airway Centre at UBC and Providence Health Care (PHC). In this capacity, he is building a multi- and inter-disciplinary research team that is dedicated to developing novel biomarker and therapeutic solutions, and accelerated knowledge translation and commercialization activities.
