Artificial Intelligence Goes to Work: Will Protective Labour Law Follow?

March 13 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Department of History and Sociology and the North Okanagan Labour Council proudly present the second annual Labour Lecture.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the world of work. Increasingly, workers are being managed by algorithms without the direct intervention of human beings, reducing worker autonomy and intensifying labour.

In this presentation, Eric Tucker from the Osgoode Hall Law School at York University discusses these developments and the prospects for protective labour and employment law to address the resulting harms.

A reception will follow in the ADM Building foyer.

No registration is required. Everyone is welcome to attend.

This event is co-sponsored by the Department of Economics, Philosophy and Political Science; the Department of Community, Culture and Global Studies, and IGS Digital Arts & Humanities, with support from the Department of English and Cultural Studies (FCCS).
