Brain Awareness Event

March 17, 2023 at 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

As one of the top research-based universities in the country, the University of British Columbia Okanagan invites the community to learn more about the brain-related research underway at our facilities. Join us for the opportunity to visit various laboratory and classroom locations where the researchers and laboratory team members will take you on tour and present ongoing research in their laboratory.

You may visit the laboratory locations on a drop-in basis in whichever order you please by using the map provided to you. There is also a snack-time room where food and drinks will be provided. In addition, an information booklet will be available online or as a hard copy outlining laboratory locations, snack-time” locations, and a brief overview of what will be presented in each laboratory presentation/tour!

This event is part of Brain Awareness Week, a global initiative to educate and foster excitement for everything brain science! Every March, hosts around the world introduce creative activities and seminars in their communities that share the mysteries of the brain and the impact that neuroscience research has on our everyday lives. Event hosts can include universities, hospitals, medical research facilities, K-12 schools, government agencies and more.
