CODA Matinee

Join us for an engaging celebration of Deaf culture, presented in recognition of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3). This event features a free matinee screening of La Famille Bélier — a film about a hearing child of Deaf adults — followed by an interactive ASL lesson and panel discussion with members of the Deaf and CODA (children of deaf adults) communities.

Captioning and ASL interpretation will be available at the event.

Event schedule

  • Welcome/introduction: 12:00 to 12:05 pm
  • Film screening: 12:05 to 2:00 pm
  • Intermission: 2:00 to 2:10 pm
  • ASL/Deaf Culture lesson: 2:10 to 2:40 pm
  • Panel discussion: 2:45 to 3:15 pm
  • Wrap up and Closing remarks: 3:15 to 3:30 pm
