March 22, 2021 at 11:00 am - 12:15 pm

Free

The Department of Community, Culture and Global Studies invites you to a presentation by Chelsea Vowel.

Vowel is Métis from manitow-sâkahikan (Lac Ste. Anne) Alberta, residing in amiskwacîwâskihikan (Edmonton). Mother to six girls, she has a BEd, an LLB, and an MA, and is a Cree language instructor at the Faculty of Native Studies at the University of Alberta.

Vowel gives a brief synopsis of her talk below.

“Indigenous peoples are survivors of multiple apocalypses. Exploring linkages between ancestors and descendants, humans and non-human and more-than-human kin, this session rejects apocalypse as a paradigm to engage in world-building.”
