EMERGE: Financial Literacy

Meet with Kwame Boateng from Odlun Brown to learn about making smart financial decisions for the present and future. 

Kwame Boateng is a Portfolio Manager and Investment Advisor at Odlum Brown Limited, an independent, full-service investment firm providing disciplined investment advice and objective value-based research to help clients achieve their financial goals. Having worked in the industry for 10 years, Kwame has developed a keen insight into the wealth creation process and the factors that help (or detract) from reaching one’s goals. He is also an active member of the Kelowna community as President of CFA Society Okanagan, sits on the Okanagan College Business Program Advisory Committee, and had a stint teaching at UBCO in the Faculty of Management.

Kwame was born in Ghana and has spent equal parts of this life between the US and Canada.

Emerge is a series of career-focused workshops and sessions intended to support Black students and students of colour while they navigate the job market. The aim is to understand the intricacies of working in the world as a person of colour and provide solutions to unique challenges that may present themselves to people within this community. Join a network of peers and receive targeted guidance how to stand out from the crowd and advocate for yourself and others while job hunting.
