From Big Data to Your Data: How Data-Driven Technologies are Shaping the Future with Nora Young

April 13, 2021 at 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm

Free

The community is invited to the Irving K. Barber Faculty of Science’s Distinguished Speaker Series featuring CBC’s Nora Young.

Nora Young is the creator and host of Spark, CBC’s national radio show and podcast that explores technology and culture. Spark is a smart, but irreverent, weekly deep dive into big topics in technology-driven change. Recent episodes have examined everything from how ‘non-fungible tokens’ are changing the art world, to the ways algorithms and machine learning perpetuate bias.

On April 13, join Young for an in-depth look at how recent advancements in technology and the explosion of data is affecting our behaviours, relationships and opinions.
