Join us for a discussion with our inspiring alumni who will share their experiences before, during and after graduating from UBC. Our Alumni panel is presented in collaboration with the UBCO Alumni Engagement Office and consists of:

The alumni panel moderators will be: Emilio Freire and Segundo Parra Jurado.
Guillermo Angel: Panelist
Guillermo Angel is the Digital Communications Consultant for the City of Kelowna. He is responsible for managing all aspects of the City’s digital communication strategy both internally and externally. A UBC Okanagan Alumni, originally from Colombia and growing up in Indonesia he arrived at UBC Okanagan in 2008 and graduated with a BA in 2013.
Guillermo was a prominent member of the international student community at UBC Okanagan during his tenure, holding positions of JumpStart Leader, Create New Student Orientation Leader, International Student Club President, Students Union Director, DVC Student Development Council Member, Canadian Conference on Student Leadership Co-Chair, Peer Mentor Leader and directed the UBC Okanagan LipDub amongst all while finding time to complete his studies
Uchenna Anyaoha: Panelist
Uche is an entrepreneur and a professional in the field of Engineering, with a focus on machine learning optimization. He is an alumnus with a MASc. degree in Engineering. Uche has over 10 years of experience in the engineering industry and has been recognized for his contributions to the engineering community via published journal papers.
Kanchana Pintapakang: Panelist
Kanchana is currently the Branch Administrator at PI Financial and working to become a registered representative. Kanchana helps investment advisors manage and maintain their clients’ information. Kanchana’s management degree has enabled exploration within industries that she thought she would never enter, such as construction and finance.
Driven by growth, Kanchana is eager to accept new opportunities to learn and try new things in order to expand her knowledge and skill set. However, opportunities are sometimes difficult to come by, and she has found that building meaningful connections is a pivotal part of her journey.
Shiven Vinod Khera: Panelist
Shiven is a proud Alumnus of UBCO who recently completed his undergrad from the management program class of 2022. Since graduating, Shiven has stayed in the Okanagan and is the co-founder of Linkbase Technologies Inc which he and his friends started while still students at UBCO. Linkbase is an IoT (Internet of Things) company helping short-term rental property managers scale and automates their operations using Linkbase’s cloud-based SaaS platform that seamlessly connects with over 200,000 smart IoT devices.
Shiven is always grateful for his time at UBCO and all the opportunities UBCO provided him from being the president of the Enactus club in 2020 to being the elected Vice President Internal at SUO in 2021.
Segun Fatudimu: Panel Opening Speaker
Segun Fatudimu is a Ph. D. Candidate at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan. He is a social impact and youth development strategist with expertise in developing training and tools that help social ventures scale their impact and become financially sustainable. He has over nine years of experience working on youth development, social entrepreneurship, healthcare, and education projects.
He founded the Impact Toolbox which is a digital social-minded venture incubator that empowers builders and creators to transform their ideas and passions into socially minded viable businesses & community development projects through training, coaching, tools, and growth resources.
Emilio Freire Raymond: Panel Moderator
Emilio is the Program Coordinator of the On-campus Work Integrated Learning. He graduated from UBCO in 2022 with a degree in sociology and political science. During his time at UBCO, he was highly involved on campus leading settlement and intercultural programs.
Segundo Parra Jurado: Panel Moderator
Segundo Parra Jurado is a fourth-year student pursuing a major in Computer Science and a minor in Data Science. Segundo is currently gaining practical experience as a Co-op Project Coordinator at the Global Engagement Office.
