You have now been added as a new user to events.ok.ubc.ca Before adding events • Please review the guidelines for the UBCO events website: https://events.ok.ubc.ca/about/. The guidelines outline the types of events that are permitted and those that are not. • Please also review the instructions on how to enter events: https://events.ok.ubc.ca/submit/. There are some key nuances when it comes to entry. The workflow of the site is also explained here. Both links above can also be easily accessed in the footer of the site, for future reference. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach back to ubco.events@ubc.ca. That box is monitored by myself, and then other team members in my absence. If you would like me to walk you through adding your first event I am happy to do so, please let me know.

This workshop creates a safe and supportive space where Indigenous people on our campus can come together and partake in a beading workshop.

The event will be led by Denica Bleu, a Métis beader, and certified trauma therapist. This will be a space where participants can create a community within each other while partaking in a traditional activity. The month of SAAM can be heavy and this is an event where you can decompress and take space for yourself and your healing journey.

Denica will lead the group through beading a lanyard using peyote stitch, we will meet two seperate times with the aim for you to complete a lanyard to take home by the end.

The materials are free and will be provided by SVPRO at the time of the event, we also welcome any materials you may want to bring of your own. We look forward to decompressing after SAAM and creating a healing space with you!

Open to Indigenous students, staff, and faculty only.

This event is hosted as a part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month at UBC.
