Learning R: Exploring Data

October 17 at 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)

Join us on an exciting journey into the world of data with our introductory workshops! Tailored for newcomers with little to no experience in R or other scripted tools, we offer a low-barrier entry to unleash your computer’s potential for data mastery, moving beyond Excel or SPSS. Join us and discover the power of data in a user-friendly, script-driven environment!

This week’s session will introduce participants to common tasks of initial data exploration. Topics covered include calculating missing values, basic summaries (quartiles, categories, counts, etc.), single variable descriptive stats (range, length, variance, etc.), and plotting distributions.

By the end of the session, participants should be able to use a suite of tools to comprehensively describe their data and establish if it meets underlying criteria for subsequent analysis.
