Orange Shirt Day Art Build

September 13, 2023 at 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)

The Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies is pleased to invite people to participate in workshops to create a series of hummingbird flags to be installed on campus for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Sept. 30.

Carve a hummingbird in honour of the children (little spirits) who never came home and remember the unmarked graves at residential schools across Canada, as we continue to demand justice for Indigenous communities. This is the second year we are hosting this project, flags from this year will be added to the flags created last year to increase the circle of flags to be installed in the courtyard on the UBCO campus. View images and read more about the 2022 project.
