Roots and Reflections: March

March 19 at 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Plants by the pond

This series is not just a monthly meeting—it’s a journey toward a more inclusive, informed, and connected community.

Join us every month for an enriching experience as we delve into an array of Indigenous resources—captivating podcasts, thought-provoking articles, soul-stirring songs, enlightening book excerpts, poignant poems, compelling TV shows, and more. Each session is a unique opportunity to broaden your perspective and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of culture within our UBCO community.

This month’s Roots and Reflections will listen to an episode of the podcast, The Secret Life of Canada titled: Sasquatch in the Gift Shop.

This Episode explores the truth behind two familiar stories. We will learn about the history of Ogopogo from local knowledge holder and artist, Coralee Miller. This will be a fun discussion about local knowledge and the true meaning behind the well-known tale of Ogopogo. You can find the episode on Spotify.

Please be advised that this meeting is only happening through Zoom and does not have an in-person component.
