The Global Health Gala

The School of Nursing is pleased to invite all members of our community to the 2023 Global Health Gala, Nov. 24 at the Delta Hotels Grand Okanagan Resort.
The Gala is a fundraiser that directly supports the needs of community partners in Ghana and Zambia, including healthcare supplies, medication, community clinics, and other health initiatives. Currently within these countries, there are chronically limited medical resources and supplies, and decreased rates of access to healthcare.
The funds will be disbursed in-country during the fourth year School of Nursing students’ 2024 global practicums where they will learn and work collaboratively with local healthcare practitioners.
The Gala includes a wonderful three-course meal, bar service, a silent auction with more than a dozen items to bid on, and an impactful program of speakers, including Dr. Marie Tarrant, Dean of the Faculty of Health and Social Development, School of Nursing faculty, and partners in Zambia and Ghana including Dr. Vida Yakong the Dean of Nursing in Tamale, Ghana.
The event is open to all students, faculty, and community members. Ticket prices are $75 for students, $125 for non-students and $1,500 for a table for 10 people.
