Join the Media Studies Seminar Series for a virtual presentation from Julia Read

This talk is free to attend and open to the public. Artistic Producer and SIGGRAPH VR Theater Director Julia Read will present on the immersive environment design that went into the SIGGRAPH 2023 VR Theater along with an exploration of inspiring virtual worlds and avatars that look to the future of the metaverse. Join the Media Studies Seminar Series for this engaging talk followed by a discussion about how avatars allow us to represent deeper versions of ourselves in digital spaces.

As Artistic Producer, Julia Read focuses on delivering studio vision across all next-gen developments and features and is responsible for reconciling project direction with available resources, maintaining effective communication with external stakeholders, and streamlining processes within the creation of immersive narrative and gamified xR content. As Director of the SIGGRAPH VR Theater, Julia Read operates as program visionary, decision maker and contributor, vendor and attendee liaison. Julia plans the artistic and technical logistics of this acclaimed, multi-viewer virtual reality space. Julia Read comfortably operates within the unknowns of emerging technologies, often adjusting to frequent changes in fast-paced environments, alongside futurists, visionaries, world builders and creative technologists to produce exceptional immersive experiences.
