Realizing Change in Mental and Behavioural Health Policy

UBCO’s Department of Psychology and the Centre for Obesity & Well-Being Research Excellence are proud to present the next guest in our Advocacy Speaker Series about increasing access to psychological services in British Columbia.

With over 20 years in community-based mental health and addictions services, policy, and advocacy, Jonathan Morris has a rich background in improving mental health care. As the former leader of the Policy and Legislation Branch at the Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions, he was instrumental in establishing the new ministry. His expertise spans addressing disparities in mental and physical health, campus mental health, the criminal justice system, and transforming systems for better care.

  • Mental health policy recommendations with regard to the provincial elections
  • Advocacy efforts from grassroots initiatives to the Premier’s office
  • Morris will share his experiences in making a significant difference in British Columbia’s mental health care through:
