Trans friendly yoga

Join Pride Programming on October 15 for a free yoga class!

Led by a trauma-informed certified yoga instructor from the Queer community, we will be discussing stretches that are safe for folks who bind, in addition to regular practice. Allies and folks from all levels of experience are welcome to join the class. 

The class will feature social and connection time from 4:30 to 5 pm, and the yoga itself will take place from 5 to 6 pm.

Yoga classes are held in a studio space with mirrors and light music to support focus and flow. You can expect light background music and the instructor talking. Folks joining the class are welcome to step out at any time and can take breaks as needed. There are gendered and gender-neutral washrooms, and places to change in the Gym. This class will consist of low-impact movement in a safe and queer-friendly space.

Wear comfortable activewear and bring a water bottle. All equipment needed will be provided, but those with their own yoga mats and blocks are welcome to bring them if that is more comfortable for you. Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to attend. 

Pre-registration is appreciated

Waivers will be available at the customer service desk prior to the event for those who aren’t able to pre-register. 

It is recommended that you arrive 10 minutes early to this class to get oriented to the space and settle in. When you arrive at the gymnasium, check in with the customer service desk to receive your class pass. Then head to Studio 1 in the lower level of the Hangar, where you can provide your pass to the instructor.
