Black History Month: ACSC ‘Tiny Desk’ Showcase
February 27 at 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

The Tiny Desk Showcase is an ACSC off‑campus music event that brings together singers, poets, instrumentalists, rappers, and other performers from UBCO and the wider Kelowna community. Artists perform live before an audience and a panel of experienced judges who provide feedback and help shape a competitive atmosphere. The audience selects the top three performers, judges determine the final placements and announce prizes. The event concludes with a networking social featuring sponsors and music representatives, giving emerging artists meaningful opportunities to connect and grow.
The Tiny Desk Showcase embraces the intimate living-room-style experience. With a mix of standing room, limited chairs, and soft carpet seating near the stage, this design is meant to feel relaxed and warm.
BREAKDOWN OF THE NIGHT
- Performances back-to-back: Live constructive feedback from the judges to be heard by each artist and the audience.
- Audience voting: You play a key role in shaping the night. Once all performances have concluded. The crowd will vote to determine the Top 3 artists.
- Judge’ decision: Judges will come together in deciding the winner and runner-ups.
- Post-performance social: To close off the night, an open networking social among artists, the judges, sponsors, and professional music representatives will take place. This is the chance to connect, collaborate, and build community.
