In this interactive session, participants will explore essential coaching skills, principles and a core conversational model that supports leaders to be more coach-like in their everyday interactions with their direct reports, colleagues and teams.
This 2.5-hour in-person workshop and 30-minute pre-work requirement introduces coaching in the workplace and how the UBC COEC model (Connect – Open – Explore – Close) enables more effective, generative and productive conversations.
Blending content with demonstrations and practice, participants will explore the elements, qualities and skills that support informal and more formal coach-like conversations and gain insight into how a coach-like approach fosters stronger connections, increases engagement and improves relationships at work.
